Autumn Pysanky Course with Ukraine House Japan

Discover the traditional Ukrainian art of pysanky and learn to create intricate designs using the authentic wax-resist method with a candle and beeswax.
The autumn course includes six Friday workshops from September to November 2026. At each lesson, participants will learn new techniques, explore traditional Ukrainian symbols and create their own pysanky in a warm and creative atmosphere.

The room must be vacated by 17:00.
Venue: Kitchen Room, Kawasaki International Center (KIAN)
2-2 Kizuki Gion-cho, Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki
Nearest station: Motosumiyoshi Station on the Tokyu Toyoko and Meguro lines, approximately 10–12 minutes on foot.
The kitchen room allows us to practise the authentic method of creating pysanky using candles and melted beeswax.
Participation fee: ¥3,000 per workshop
All materials are included.
Maximum number of participants: 16.
Instructor: Tetyana Solotska
Tetyana has 13 years of experience teaching the Ukrainian art of pysanky in Japan. She has conducted more than 800 workshops across the country, including workshops at universities and high schools—and this number does not even include her many lessons for children!
Beginners are warmly welcome. No previous experience is required.
Funds raised through this course will support another pysanky project, which we look forward to announcing in February 2027.
