Baltic Island
02/06/26, 03:00
Baltic Island presents contemporary illustration from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania as a rich and multifaceted visual landscape shaped by imagination, atmosphere, and subtle storytelling.

Bringing together children’s book illustration, comics, conceptual works, and experimental artistic practices, the exhibition reflects the diversity and depth of contemporary Baltic visual culture.
Moving fluidly between hand-drawn, digital, and hybrid techniques, the participating artists explore themes of memory, humour, symbolism, emotion, and the unseen layers beneath everyday reality. Each work carries a distinct personal voice while remaining connected to broader cultural narratives and shared regional sensibilities. Together, the exhibition creates a space where artistic expression, cultural memory, and contemporary perspectives meet — an island of images inviting reflection, curiosity, and dialogue.
We warmly welcome everyone to visit Baltic Island and discover the exhibition together with its diverse program of related events, talks, workshops, and special gatherings taking place throughout the exhibition period.
As part of Baltic Island, an Art Auction for Ukraine will be held on:
June 4 (Thursday), 18:30
Location: Spiral Garden
The evening will feature approximately 20 works by Baltic artists presented in support of Ukraine. More than a fundraising initiative, the auction is conceived as an act of solidarity and human connection — demonstrating how artistic communities can respond to crisis through creativity, compassion, and collaboration.
The funds raised through the auction will support organizations assisting Ukraine and displaced Ukrainians, including:
NPO Stand With Ukraine Japan
NPO Ukraine House Japan
NPO Kraiany
