Christmas Stars Shining from Kyiv to Japan

While choosing an image for the poster of our Christmas celebration, we were drawn to a beautiful Ukrainian Christmas Star, often seen in photographs of traditional Christmas star processions in Ukraine.
It was through this Star that we had the opportunity to meet its creator, Tetyana Fedosenko @fedosenko.art, a master of Ukrainian folk art.
We learned that Ms. Tetyana had created this Star for the Ivan Honchar Museum in Kyiv and its Christmas Star Procession. On her website, the design is called “Honchar's Christmas Star.”
In the photographs, you will also see her teacher, Ivan Prykhodko, a master craftsman of traditional Christmas Stars, in his beautifully painted house, surrounded by the Stars he created. The master passed away last year. May his memory be eternal.
His son Vasyl continues his father's work. The Prykhodko Workshop @maisternia_prykhodkiv remains active today, preserving and carrying forward Ivan Prykhodko's artistic legacy.
Ms. Tetyana says that Christmas traditions were among those most severely affected by Soviet rule. That is why she is happy whenever another country has the opportunity to discover this Ukrainian tradition.
“Be Your Own Craftsperson”: A Christmas Star for Every Home!
The Fedosenko.Art workshop produces wooden craft kits with patterns already outlined, ready for you to paint yourself. Ribbons and small bells are also included.
Rotating Christmas Star M: 22 × 22 cm, with a total height of 50 cm including the handle;
Goat Mask: 24 × 40 cm, for traditional Christmas caroling and Vertep performances;
Gift sets in kraft boxes, complete with a greeting card and painting examples.
These kits are a wonderful idea for a family celebration, children's activities, or a workshop. You can create your own Christmas Star together and take it with you when singing traditional Ukrainian Christmas carols!
Ms. Tetyana is currently preparing kits for different countries around the world, helping Ukrainians abroad preserve and share their Christmas caroling traditions.
You can explore the Christmas collection at fedosenkoart.com.ua, in the “Be Your Own Craftsperson” section.
You can also support the workshop from abroad by ordering its creations. Fedosenko.Art ships internationally to various countries, so a little piece of Ukrainian Christmas can find its way into your home.
We also invite you to discover the work of the Prykhodko Workshop, which continues the legacy of this remarkable Ukrainian master.
