Exhibition in Yokohama

03/03/25, 03:00

On March 2–3, the exhibition “Ukraine in Photographs and Videos” took place in Yokohama!

Kanagawa Prefecture, in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan and the Ukrainian cultural center Ukraine House Japan, organized this exhibition to mark the third anniversary of russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.

Visitors had the opportunity to:

▫️ Explore a digital war archive—a 3D visualization of destruction in Ukraine, created in collaboration with the research lab of Prof. Hidenori Watanabe, Graduate School of the University of Tokyo.

▫️ View photographs from Ukraine documenting war crimes and the stories of displaced Ukrainians.

▫️ Learn about Ukrainian traditions—the exhibition featured a motanka doll, a traditional talisman believed to protect against misfortune and bring happiness to its owner.

Additionally, the exhibition was held ahead of a performance by the orchestra of the Odesa National Opera at the Kanagawa Prefectural Hall, allowing even more people to learn about modern Ukraine and its culture.

The concert of the Odesa National Opera Orchestra received a full house of applause. The Ukrainian national anthem was performed from the stage, and the blue and yellow flag was brought onto the stage by the artists.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supports Ukraine, and helps spread the truth!
