Our First Anniversary

11/11/25, 03:00

Message from the President

Today marks one year since the founding decision of Ukraine House Japan — a moment born from our shared belief that culture has the power to unite people.

On November 11, 2024, a group of Ukrainian women in Tokyo made the decision to establish Ukraine House Japan and officially signed the Protocol of Establishment.

After several weeks of visits to the Tokyo Metropolitan Office — sometimes weekly, sometimes even daily — our registration documents were finally accepted on December 25, Christmas Day.

On April 11, 2025, Ukraine House Japan was officially registered as a non-profit organization.
These two dates, November 11 and April 11, have become milestones in our calendar, marking the beginning of our journey.

The idea of creating Ukraine House Japan was first proposed by Olesya Kyrylchuk in January 2023, and I remain deeply grateful for that moment of inspiration.
Over time, the idea matured and brought together Ukrainian women who share a love for Ukraine and deep respect for Japan.

During the process of formation, some continued with us while others moved in different directions.
Those who remained have devoted themselves to building this organization with professionalism and integrity.

Together, we laid the foundation of Ukraine House Japan, and today I am proud to say — we are a team.
We will continue to grow in our connectedness through shared work and purpose.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way.

Our warmest thanks go to Ari Yabumoto and Yoko Takei for their kindness, encouragement, and sincere support.

We are also sincerely grateful to Mr. Vyacheslav Surovyi and Zen Group for their kind support and for the professionally designed pamphlet — completed just yesterday — which beautifully presents our mission and values to the Japanese public.

Above all, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to every member of our team —
Inna Ilina, Olena Kushnarova, Iryna Vetrova, Kateryna Andrenko, Olena Zemliachenko, Victoriia Shetliez-Virich, Mariya Koropenko, Anastasiya Doroshyna, Olena Svidran’, and Olha Zhuravel
for your dedication, creativity, and tireless effort in building Ukraine House Japan.
Your unity and commitment give this House its life and heart.

We also extend sincere gratitude to the families of our members, whose patience, understanding, and continuous support make our work possible.
Without them, we could not have advanced with such dedication and focus.

Together, we move forward — with gratitude, courage, and faith in the power of culture to connect hearts.
