The 2nd Japan–Ukraine International Art Festival

Program Highlights

• Reading from the “Diary” of Marie Bashkirtseff, a Ukrainian-born female painter active in Paris in the late 19th century

• Performances centered on French music

Performers

• Pianist: Denys Yavorskyi (his 4th visit to Japan)
  　Liszt Transcendental Étude “Storm”, Poulenc Violin Sonata (with a message of resistance to violence), Ravel Tzigane, and more

• Saxophonist: Kenta Igarashi (collaboration with a New York–based Ukrainian jazz drummer through video)

• Ballet: Two pas de deux performed by principal dancers from leading ballet companies in Kyiv and the United States
