“A Space to Bring Smiles to the Earth”

On May 16、 2026、 Ukraine House Japan participated in the TBS festival “A Space to Bring Smiles to the Earth” held at Akasaka Sacas in Tokyo.

Since 2022, TBS has continuously supported Ukrainians evacuated to Japan and invited Ukrainian participants to take part in this annual festival. This year once again became an important opportunity to introduce Ukrainian culture to Japanese society through traditional cuisine and direct human connection.

Ukraine House Japan presented a handmade Ukrainian food booth under the concept:

“Homemade • Warm • Traditional — Taste Ukraine”

Visitors enjoyed traditional Ukrainian dishes and drinks prepared by members of the Ukrainian community currently living in Japan, including borshch, pampushky, pyrizhky, horishky, and uzvar.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Kaoru Hanaoka from the Sustainability Transformation Planning Department of TBS for her continuous support and thoughtful assistance throughout the years. We are also deeply thankful to Ms. Olga Khlestunova for her warm support, energy, and close cooperation with TBS representatives over many years.

This year, Ukraine House Japan participated together with K.M. TRADING, while Restaurant “Domivka” and Viktorya Vereskun joined the festival on the second day.

The festival once again demonstrated the importance of cultural exchange and long-term cooperation between Japan and Ukraine. Through food, conversation, and shared moments, visitors were able to encounter Ukrainian culture in a warm and personal atmosphere.

Ukraine House Japan sincerely thanks all partners, volunteers, participants, and visitors who made this participation possible.
