Ukrainian Spring Festival at Shibaura House in March 2026
17/04/26, 03:00
Welcoming Spring Together with the People of Japan

With the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan and in close cooperation with Stand With Ukraine Japan, UKRAINE HOUSE JAPAN brought together communities in Tokyo for a vibrant celebration of Ukrainian culture at Shibaura House. The festival became a space where shared efforts, traditions, and human connection came together, offering visitors an immersive experience of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
Throughout the day, guests were welcomed into an atmosphere shaped by warmth, openness, and genuine curiosity. Traditional Ukrainian cuisine played a central role, with a rich variety of dishes prepared by the team, allowing visitors to discover new tastes and stories through food. Alongside this, contributions from partners—from Ukrainian wine to regional specialties—added further depth and authenticity to the experience.
Workshops provided opportunities for direct engagement, inviting participants to explore Ukrainian traditions with their own hands. Music, performances, and conversations created a lively rhythm that carried through the entire event, transforming the festival into more than a presentation—it became a space of dialogue and shared presence.
Behind the scenes, the festival was made possible by a dedicated team working across multiple days, bringing together effort, care, and professionalism. Many of those involved were Ukrainians who have found themselves in Japan in recent years, and their participation added a deeply human dimension to the event, turning it into a space of both cultural expression and community support.
The festival also reached audiences beyond the venue, drawing attention online and inviting a wider public to engage with Ukrainian culture. This growing interest reflects the importance of such initiatives in building understanding and strengthening connections between people.
UKRAINE HOUSE JAPAN expresses its sincere gratitude to all partners, supporters, and visitors who contributed to making this day meaningful. Their openness and willingness to connect are at the heart of cultural exchange.
As UKRAINE HOUSE JAPAN continues its work, this festival stands as a reminder that culture has the power to unite, to sustain, and to create bridges—especially in times when connection matters most.
