Ukraine House Japan will host a Green Borshch Cooking Class — an introduction to one of the traditional seasonal dishes of Ukrainian cuisine.

Green borshch is a seasonal dish prepared using fresh greens, including sorrel, which gives it its characteristic slightly tangy flavor. It is light, yet rich in taste, fresh and vibrant, and traditionally associated with spring — when sorrel first appears — but it can be prepared throughout the season, as sorrel can be gathered from spring to nearly the end of summer.


During the class, participants will prepare the dish step by step, while also learning about its place in Ukrainian food culture and seasonal traditions.
