Results & Highlights
36 international training camps in 14 countries
more than 1,300 medals at national and international tournaments
in Japan in February 2027
The project's mission is to ensure that young Ukrainian athletes can continue training in safe conditions despite the war, develop their skills, and continue representing Ukraine at national and international competitions.
Over the past four years, Olympic Dreams has organized 36 international training camps in 14 countries. Thanks to these camps, hundreds of young athletes have been able to continue their athletic development when regular training in Ukraine became impossible or severely disrupted.
Japan has become an important part of this story.
For three consecutive years, young Ukrainian judokas have traveled to Japan to continue their training. During the most recent camp, training sessions were hosted at the Kodokan Institute, Tenri University, Shutoku High School, and Adachi High School. The All Japan Judo Federation also organized masterclasses led by Olympic and World champions, giving the athletes a unique opportunity to learn in the birthplace of judo.
The results demonstrate the importance of these opportunities.
Following the training camps in Japan, Ukrainian athletes have repeatedly won medals at European and World judo competitions. Throughout the Olympic Dreams project, participating athletes have earned more than 1,300 medals at national and international tournaments.
Preparations have now begun for the next training camp, scheduled to take place in Japan in February 2027.
According to the project organizers, the Japanese side once again plans to provide accommodation, meals, local transportation, training opportunities, and other essential support for the athletes during their stay in Japan.
To help make this possible, Ukraine House Japan is joining this international effort by raising funds to help cover the athletes' travel between Ukraine and Japan.
Every contribution received through this campaign will help purchase round-trip airline tickets for as many young Ukrainian judokas as the collected funds allow. Every ticket represents an opportunity for another young athlete to continue training, gain international experience, and proudly represent Ukraine at future European, World, and, we hope, Olympic competitions.
Sport has always united people beyond borders, languages, and cultures. By supporting this initiative, you help preserve Ukraine's next generation of athletes while strengthening the friendship between Ukraine and Japan through the universal values of sport.
Together, we can help ensure that talented young athletes continue their journey toward sporting excellence and proudly represent Ukraine on the international stage.
